Manage your records and make the most of WealthLens
Find guidance on backing up your ledger, restoring records and answering common questions. The tools in settings let you review data before importing, exporting or resetting it. Start with the task you need and check the result before continuing your records.
Back up before changing or clearing data
Use the JSON export in settings to save a complete ledger backup. Keep the file somewhere private and review a restore before confirming it. CSV reports are useful in spreadsheets but do not replace the JSON restore format. Back up your records before major changes or a reset.
Handle storage limits and invalid data
If a write would exceed storage capacity, the app rejects it and preserves the previous ledger instead of truncating records. Export a backup, review your data and reduce the dataset deliberately if needed. For a corrupt ledger, use the recovery screen and a known-good backup. Read the error message before confirming any reset.
Preferences and data management are separate
Changing the theme, language or sidebar does not delete your ledger. Financial data deletion has its own controls in settings and always requires separate confirmation. Review the scope, consider a backup and confirm only when you are ready.
Why did my records disappear on another device?
WealthLens does not automatically sync between devices. Export a JSON backup from the device with your records, then review and restore that file on the device you want to use.
Why do goals and transfers not count as spending?
Goals earmark money without changing balances. Transfers move money between accounts. Only expense transactions count toward spending totals and category budgets.
What should I send when asking for help?
Send the page URL, device, browser, language and reproduction steps with fictional data. Never send bank credentials, sensitive identifiers or your financial backup.
