Understand the story behind your totals
WealthLens turns the transactions you record into a financial overview. Compare income and expenses, examine category spending and review changes over a selected date range. The results describe your ledger; they are not forecasts, audited statements or personalized financial advice.
Separate cash flow from account balances
Net cash flow equals income minus expenses for the selected period. An account balance also includes its opening balance and transfers in or out. A positive cash-flow figure therefore need not equal the balance on your dashboard. Transfers and earmarked goal contributions are excluded from income and expense totals.
Choose dates before comparing periods
Date ranges include both the start and end date. A previous-period comparison is useful only when its baseline supports the calculation. When a percentage has a zero denominator, WealthLens shows it as unavailable rather than inventing a growth or savings percentage. Check filters and the underlying entries when a trend looks unexpected.
Take the data into a report
Use chart data tables when a visual chart is difficult to read, and download CSV reports for spreadsheet work. Report exports reflect the selected ledger data; they are not complete restore files. Save a JSON backup from settings for recovery, and handle downloaded financial files with care.

Why is a percentage unavailable?
A zero income or comparison baseline cannot support division. WealthLens returns an unavailable value instead of reporting a misleading percentage.
Are account transfers counted as income?
No. Analytics counts income and expenses by transaction type. Moving money between your own accounts does not create either.
Can a CSV report restore everything?
No. CSV is for reporting or a reviewed transaction import. Use the JSON backup and restore workflow for a complete ledger.
